Edward M. Petronie, born on September 1, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, in Noblesville, Indiana. Edward led a life rich in love and commitment, reflected in the many roles he embraced as a devoted family man, cherished friend, and dedicated professional.
A proud graduate of Keystone Oak High School in 1967, Edward furthered his education at Allegheny Technical Institute in 1969 and later at IUPUI in Indianapolis in 1990. His commitment to learning was matched only by his dedication to his career, during which he served as a relay SCABA technician for the Indianapolis Power and Light Company, retiring in 2017. His work ethic and professionalism left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure to work alongside him.
Edward’s caring and thoughtful personality shone brightly in every aspect of his life. He will be fondly remembered by his loving daughters, Jennifer (Jimmy) Sheard and Sara Petronie, who have shared countless moments filled with joy under his nurturing guidance. His legacy of love and kindness lives on through his grandchildren, Jacob Petronie, Jackson Keen, and Ave Keen, who brought endless delight into his life.
Edward’s proudest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life, Angeline Irwin Petronie, on April 11, 1970. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect until Angeline’s passing. He is now reunited with her, along with his beloved parents, Edward and Elizabeth Pychock Petronie and son Michael Petronie. Their spirits undoubtedly welcome him with open arms, as they continue to watch over their family.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Edward’s life and legacy. A visitation will be held at O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory at 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227 on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., followed by a Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church 535 Edgewood Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227, starting at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
