Sharon M. Marshall, a beloved matriarch passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 87. Sharon was born on November 14, 1937, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Paul & Edith Joyal. Sharon was known for her unyielding spirit, captivating warmth, and boundless love for her family.

Throughout her fulfilling career, Sharon served as a dedicated legal secretary for many years at Loch, Reynolds, Boyd & Weisell, where her meticulous nature and strong work ethic earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Yet, it was in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother that Sharon truly flourished, dedicating herself to nurturing those she held dear.
Sharon was a beacon of kindness, always ready to support others with her loving and giving nature. Her home became the vibrant heart of the neighborhood, where laughter echoed, and memories were forged. An amazing cook, she created a sanctuary for her beloved boys and their friends, where they gathered to share stories and indulge in delicious meals. Every Sunday was sacred to Sharon; it was reserved for family dinners, an important tradition that brought everyone together, fostering a sense of belonging and unconditional love.

Her grandchildren, in particular, held a special place in her heart. They delighted in spending time at Grandma’s house, immersed in imaginative play and laughter, their faces lighting up at every whimsical game and adventure cooked up by their spirited grandmother. Sharon’s love knew no bounds, and she was happiest when her family gathered around her, creating cherished moments and lasting bonds.

A devout Catholic, Sharon lived her faith daily, finding comfort and guidance in her strong beliefs. As a charter member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, she embodied the essence of community, extending her hand to those in need and filling her life’s tapestry with acts of kindness.
Sharon was also a vibrant soul who cherished the joy of dancing and traveling with her late husband, Bob. Together they created a legacy of love, sharing countless memories through joyful gatherings, picnics, camping trips, and family outings, each event meticulously organized by Sharon.

Sharon is survived by her sons; Don (Amy) Marshall, Ron (Cathy) Marshall, and David (Stephanie) Marshall, along with 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and her sisters; Betty Nally, Katherine Spangenberg, and Irene Thrasher.

Sharon is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years; Robert E. Marshall, and siblings; Dean Joyal, and Shirley Tegge.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Aunt Sharon always had a smile on her face and kindness in her heart. She is going to be missed by all who knew and loved her. Aunt Sharon and Uncle Bob are together again.
Praying for peace & love for the Marshall family.
    In deepest sympathy and respect,
    Love, Fay and Randy

  2. My deepest condolences for Sharon’s family. May their faith, and the promise of the resurrection, carry them through this time of loss and grant them peace. Sharon, and my late brother Bob, were a perfect match. They complemented each other in so many ways. In years past at Christmas, Sharon and Bob, my sister Carolyn and her husband, and Chuck and I, would have wonderful home cooked dinners together, rotating at each other’s homes. These occasions were looked forward to and fondly remembered.
To Don, Ron and David, the memories of your wonderful mother will be with you always. My love and prayers are with you and your families.
    Aunt Betty Boone
