Rosemarie Higgins Quill

Age 95, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, surrounded by her daughters and wonderful caregivers at Altenheim Health and Living, along with Heart-to-Heart Hospice.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was centered around caring for others. Rosemarie was a graduate of Good Samaritan Hospital BSN program and worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital as an instructor and obstetrics nurse. After retiring from nursing to raise her family, Rosemarie volunteered at Saint Mary’s Child Center, Saint Paul’s Hermitage, and St. Francis Hospital, along with providing nursing care for family and friends. Her devotion to her elderly relatives was a priority in her life. She was an excellent hostess and enjoyed holding holiday parties in her home for family and get togethers for her Dirty Dozen, Cincinnati Nurses, and Tom’s dental group of friends.

Rosemarie is survived by her daughters; Suzie (Hassan) Mihankhah, Marianne (Don) Harris, and Meg (Chris) Swhear, grandchildren; Sean (Krissy) Harris, Monica (Evan) Austin, Jaclyn (Woody) Swhear, Julia (Adam) Harris, along with great-grandchildren; Audrey, Thomas, Aiden, Lilly, and Robbie.

Rosemarie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years; Tom Quill, daughter; Kathleen Mallatt, sister; Margaret Robisch, along with her parents; Karl & Audrey Higgins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at O’Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory (6107 S. East St., Indianapolis, Indiana. 46227). A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at  10:30am at Holy Name Catholic Church (89 N. 17^th Ave., Beech Grove, Indiana).

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Holy Name Catholic Church or St. Jude Catholic Church (5353 McFarland Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana 46227)
