Thomas G. Hale Jr., 58, of Indianapolis, Indiana, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at his home. Born on January 5, 1967, Tom led a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a spirit that brought joy to all who knew him.

Throughout his career, Tom exemplified a strong work ethic during his many years with Blue Haven Pools. He took immense pride in his work, displaying a perfectionist touch that was evident to all who experienced his craftsmanship. His passion was not limited to his career; it extended into all areas of his life.

As an avid outdoorsman, Tom cherished the beauty of nature. He was a lifelong hunter, fisherman, and treasure hunter, spending countless hours enjoying the outdoors. He had an innate talent for discovering hidden treasures, and in recent years, he proudly became known as “Tom the scrap guy,” offering his appraisal skills and sharing stories of his adventures. Tom found peace at his beloved family cottage on the lake in Michigan, a sanctuary where he felt most at home.

Food was another love of Tom’s life, especially cooking for his family and friends. He looked forward each year to preparing his famous Christmas brunch and relished Thanksgiving, waking up at dawn with his father-in-law to start the turkey in celebration of this cherished holiday. These moments filled with warmth and laughter will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to gather around his table.

Tom graduated from North Central High School in 1986 and went on to recieve his associates degree from Wentworth Military Academy in 1988, nurturing a sense of patriotism that defined him. He atteneded Southwest Missouri State for a time, and worked at Bass Pro Shop (prinarily to support his fishing habit), until he decided to work full time as a Line Operator at Kraft in Springfield, Missouri. His personality shone brightly; although he was a private individual, he radiated friendliness and respect for everyone he met. Known as a “jokester,” he knew how to lift spirits, whether through a simple grocery trip or an epic road trip filled with laughter and adventure. Tom was a trusted friend and a pillar of strength for many.

One weekend in 1996, while in Indianapolis visiting his longtime friend, John, he met Donna and his life soon changed. After a few months of driving back and forth from Springfield to Indianapolis, he decided to leave his job and life in Missouri behind. Tom married the love of his life, Donna November 6, 1999.

Throughout his life, Tom was more than just a family man; he was a loving and loyal husband and father. He took pride in being a strong protector of his family, ensuring they felt safe and cherished. He recognized the importance of faith in God during his life’s journey, discovering the unconditional love and forgiveness that faith provides. His faith was a guiding light, leading him to understand the value of every moment spent with his loved ones.

Tom’s many nieces and nephews on the Lutgring side will remember him fondly as the “Easter Egg Hunt Master,” a title he wore with pride. His love for sports, especially for the Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis Pacers, and his steadfast loyalty to the Kansas City Chiefs, added another layer to his vibrant personality.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 25 years; Donna Hale, daughters; Savannah Hale, and Shelby Hale, siblings; John (Karen) Hale, honorary brother; John Bevan, step-brother; Fred (Nartaya) Mastrippolito, step-sister; Brenda (Scott) Tiffin, and half-brother; Dan (Becki) Gross, along with aunt & uncle; Judith (Gordon) Jeltema.
