Deborah Ann Griffin, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Debbie was born in Richmond, Indiana, on November 3, 1951, to William G. and Joyce M. Griffin. She was a 1969 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and attended IU East in Richmond.
Debbie had a strong work ethic, committed to her job well into her 70’s. Most recently, Deb worked at Cracker Barrel in Indianapolis where she had the opportunity to exhibit some core personality traits such as being empathetic, industrious, funny, strong-willed, and most of all kind. Through her work, Debbie was able to form strong and lasting friendships.
Debbie experienced much adversity in her life. However, her strength allowed her to overcome these hardships. She was generous to a fault, yet never felt worthy of receiving gifts herself. She was quite intelligent, yet rather humble. She had a quick wit and could tell hilarious stories, often with a self-deprecating twist.
She enjoyed baking and would often make items requested by friends or family. Her beautiful creations were delicious and unique. Her family will miss her holiday pies, cakes, and cinnamon rolls.
Deb was passionate about children, always willing to listen, spend time with them, and sacrifice for their well-being and growth.
Debbie is survived by her siblings: Carol, Thomas (Diane), Rick(Alexandra), Timothy (Era), and Monica; Nieces: Megan Griffin, Robyn Griffin, and Elise Gideon (Louis); Nephews: Aric Griffin (Erica) and Nathan Griffin; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Griffin, and her parents, William and Joyce Griffin.
A celebration of life and Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Roch Catholic Church. Service entrusted to O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Christmas Fund or to the charity of your choice.
