It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Nemes Jr., who died on January 2, 2026, at the age of 77. John was born on November 11, 1948, in Darby, Pennsylvania, to the late John Sr. and Magdelena Nemes.
John spent more than 15 years of his career at Ford Motor Company, working as a Software Engineer in the Finance Department.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, completing three years of service while stationed in Korea.
John enjoyed cooking, and Sunday breakfasts became a long-standing family routine. He was known for his silly “dad” jokes and for playing cards and dice games with his grandchildren. Music was a constant throughout his life; he learned multiple instruments, played guitar in a band as a teenager, and continued to play throughout his life.
His hobbies included playing cards with family and friends, bowling, and golf.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah Nemes; his children, Douglass (Penny) Nemes, Jessica (Steve) Morgan, and John (Ashley) Nemes; his grandchildren, Eli and Samuel Nemes, and Bradley and Alex Morgan; and his sister, Maggie (Joe) Wilson.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.

Deb, JD and the rest of the family- we are so sorry for your loss. John was an exceptional friend and always there when needed. We so enjoyed the years spent bowling with you guys and Pat and John spent so many nights bowling and playing cards. Your relocation closer to family was so exciting, it is hard to believe he has passed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you figure out how to navigate this grief. Love always, Pat and Peggy Brady
Sorry to hear of John’s passing. I believe I only met him once when you came to the airport Indianapolis at the time of Roger’s second marriage to Sue. I remember that little John climbed up on Jeanie’s (my girlfriend) and wanted to go with us to Houston.
Your cousin,
Ron
Thinking of you and the family. Hoping you all find peace as you navigate this new journey!

My heart goes out to John’s family and friends. He was a very kind and caring man. I was part of a long running fantasy football league with him that dated back to the 90s and started at the NBD financial institution in Michigan. I would see him once a year at our draft and he always wore a friendly smile. He was one of the good guys and was always a joy to be around. Please be assured of my continued prayers for John, his family and friends.

Deb & Family,
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Worked with John at Ford. Being older and well respected, John was viewed as a mentor of sorts among his colleagues. He would tell us stories about his time in the military and playing in a dance band back in the day. He would mention his English teacher from high school sometimes, which I got a kick out of (she had taught John well).
My family and I will continue to pray and send our thoughts and love to his family.

I had the pleasure of working and golfing with John for many years. He was a great co-worker and friend. I loved John’s sense of humor, which came in handy since the name of the golf league is The Wednesday Hackers. We had a lot of fun “hacking” and then enjoying a beer afterward.
He was like a knowledge repository for the system, and I used to approach him for suggestions when I got struck. Always helped me in many situations. Could not believe still this big loss both personally and officially. RIP
John was the “knowledge base” for everything related to securitization. When I first started, he took me under his wing and spent countless hours educating and supporting me. I am so grateful for the mentorship he provided.
Beyond the work, John was a humorous storyteller. I always enjoyed hearing about his life, especially his stories from his time serving in Korea.
My prayers and thoughts go out to all of John’s family and friends. John, rest in peace!
I bowled on John’s team for several years. Great man and will be missed by all.
