Johnnie Ray Gross

Johnnie Ray Gross, a beloved member of the community, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 68, in his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on August 31, 1957, Johnnie dedicated many years of his professional life to American Aggregate, where he contributed significantly to the industry and earned the respect of his colleagues.

Johnnie was not only known for his work ethic but also for his warm and loving personality. He cherished the time spent with his family, creating countless memories that will be held dear long after his passing. His love for family was particularly evident during the holiday season, with Christmas being his favorite time of year. Johnnie found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, which included going to the movies, enjoying the outdoors at parks, and maintaining an active lifestyle through jogging.

He leaves behind his children, Mike Gross and Lisa Ritchie, who brought him immense pride and joy. Johnnie was also a devoted grandfather, leaving a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Aryana Leach, Joe Gross, Hannah Gross, Machenzie Gross, Nvey Gross, Michael Gross Jr., Randy Eckleberry Jr., Billei Ritchie, and Angel Ritchie. Each of them carries a special piece of his heart and the values he instilled.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles Gross and Mildred May Gross, as well as his wife, Vella Gross. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind, and they will be remembered fondly as he is laid to rest.
