Wallace Bryant, 68, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on March 27, 2026 at his home following an impressive 8-year battle with colon cancer.
Wally was born May 19, 1957 as an only child to Lonzo and Bertha Bryant and lived in Adair County, Kentucky, until his parents’ deaths at age 8. He was then raised by his aunt and uncle, Pearl and Leo Burton, alongside his cousin Charlotte (Larry) Giles in Edinburgh, Indiana, before attending Indiana Central University (University of Indianapolis) for accounting. It was there that he met his wife of 45 years, Tammie (née Hankins), with whom he shared 2 sons, Thomas (Bobbi) Bryant of Avon, Indiana, and Timothy (Amber) Bryant of Canton, Michigan.
Likely driven by the challenges he faced in childhood, Wally’s entrepreneurial and independent spirit led him to finding his passion as a self-employed consultant to small businesses as a self-proclaimed “recovering CPA.” He was also proud to lead his own businesses over the years, including a series of local bookstores and manufacturers.
Outside of work, his favorite things included dining out with family and friends, Boston terriers, blues and ‘90s hip-hop music (yes, really), classic BMWs, and vacationing on Kiawah Island, SC. He also developed a deep sense of pride in being ‘G’ to his 2 grandsons, Arlo and Knox Bryant of Canton, Michigan.
Visitation will be held at O’Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on April 2, 2026, from 4-7pm with funeral services beginning at 7pm in the funeral home. A private family burial will take place on April 3, 2026 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
