Resided in: Indianapolis, Indiana

Beatrice Ann Massing Clark, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Indianapolis community, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 19, 1929, Beatrice’s life was a tapestry woven with love, devotion, and a steadfast commitment to her faith and family.

A graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Beatrice’s roots remained deeply planted in the city of her birth throughout her 96 years. Her heart was a sanctuary of warmth, where the aromas of home-cooked meals and freshly baked treats welcomed all who entered. She found great joy in cooking and baking, pleasures she generously shared with family and friends. Her vibrant spirit found delight in the simple pleasures—shopping excursions, lively card games, and adventurous trips to gambling boats were among her favorite pastimes.

Beatrice’s enduring dedication to her faith was exemplified by her active membership in St. Jude’s Catholic Church. She humbly served on the pastoral council, shaping the spiritual life of her community with grace and wisdom. Additionally, she brought melody and camaraderie as a member of the Knights of Columbus Music Gals, where her voice and heart lifted the spirits of many.

Her greatest joy, however, lay in the embrace of her family. She was a proud mother to children Stephen (Mary) Massing, Jeanine (Dew Sorrells) Thompson, Suzanne (Steve Daeger) Dearholt, Theresa (Richard) Laker, Kevin (Jeannie) Massing, and  Joyce (Nick) Mappes. She also warmly welcomed and loved her stepchildren, Barbara (Gary) Lock, Linda (Don) Burchett, and Diana (Bill) Meadows. Beatrice’s legacy blossomed through 22 grandchildren who carried forward her love and values, 52 great-grandchildren who rejoiced in her presence, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her devoted husbands, Raymond Massing and Lyle Clark, her parents Joseph and Ida (Ferry) Buergler, step-son Daniel Clark, and siblings Dorothy Mae Buergler, Louis, Joseph and Edwin Buergler. Yet, her memory remains a vivid light in the hearts of those who knew her, echoing her laughter and kindness through the generations.
