Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Indianapolis, Indiana

Leigh Lynn McCall (born September 14, 1955) passed away on August 2, 2026, alongside family at the age of 70. Known for her kindness, infectious laughter, and unmistakable sass, Leigh had a way of making those around her smile and her quick wit and compassion touched the lives of family, friends, and neighbors.

Leigh was a dedicated community leader who, among her many acts of service, served for years as president of the We Care Neighborhood Association on the Near West side of Indianapolis. She also served on boards, committees, and community initiatives in service of Indianapolis, devoting countless hours to community improvement, outreach, and beautification. Her commitment to making Indianapolis beautiful and a better place reflected her belief that acts of service could make a lasting difference for others. Her leadership did not go unnoticed: she was frequently recognized by the mayor’s office and local and state government officials for her work to make Indianapolis a better place.

Leigh enjoyed working in the garden, caring for her plants, talking to family and friends over the phone, spending time on her patio and watching ducks at the pond behind their home..  She would go to IU football games and watch her son in the marching band.  She had a large collection of angels.  Mostly Leigh had a passion for taking care of her family.

Above all else though, Leigh cherished her family. Leigh was born in Indianapolis, the daughter of Patricia Frazee and Edward Gruner. She was raised by her mother and adoptive father, Richard “Dick” Lewis. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Tim McCall; their only child, Tim “Timmy” McCall and his husband, Miguel Torres Barrios; her sisters, Judy, Nancy, Carol, and Barbara; and her brother, Rick. She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her mother and adopted father, Patricia and Richard Lewis, brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Ernest “Ernie.” While Leigh will certainly be missed by many friends and family, her kindness and the countless lives she touched will be her enduring legacy.
