Patrick Terrence Crosley died on October 23, 2026. He was born on October 15, 1968, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pat was a graduate of Indiana University, where he met the love of his life, Lori. They were married for over thirty years and shared two beautiful daughters, Margaret (Molly) and Elizabeth (Betsy). Patrick was a dedicated father, and Molly and Betsy were his proudest accomplishments and greatest joy. Pat’s calling was teaching and he knew right away he wanted to teach at his alma mater, Roncalli High School. After a brief interlude at St. Jude Catholic School, he taught theology, then history and US government for almost thirty years at Roncalli. During his tenure, he taught thousands of Roncalli students, coached basketball, taught driver’s ed, was the voice of the Roncalli Rebels, then Royals, featured as a color commentator during various radio broadcasts of Roncalli athletics, and worked over thirty Christian Awakening Retreats for Roncalli Seniors. He taught generations of young people to be kind and to love the Lord. He was proudly honored in 2025 as an IHSAA 4A Football Champion of Education award.
Patrick was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indiana University, Cincinnati Reds, IndyCar, and Formula 1. He was a loyal fan of the Indianapolis 500, attending almost every race since 1976, and introducing his whole family, and countless friends to a love of the Indianapolis 500. After years of being a loyal IU football fan, he and Lori cheered on the Hoosiers at the National Championship game in Miami in 2025.
Pat loved to travel and visited multiple countries. He was awarded a Lilly Educator’s Grant and traveled to Europe where he was able to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather who fought in WWII. He traveled with fellow Roncalli staff on pilgrimage to honor the legacy of St. John XXIII in Italy. He and Lori also fulfilled a lifelong dream and traveled to Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day — Pat’s holiday.
Pat was an avid fan of history and enjoyed Civil War reenacting with his dad, Sherman. He had a passion for civic education and took great joy in registering new voters in his classroom. He also loved Indianapolis and was eager to share its history with anyone who would listen. He loved trivia, books, and was a lifelong learner.
Pat will be remembered for an amazing head of hair, his love of the champagne of beers, Miller High Life, bowties, dad jokes, his servant’s heart, and above all, his love of Lori, Molly, and Betsy.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Lori, his daughters Molly and Betsy, his father Sherman, his sister Traci Beck, nephew Jacob Beck, brother-in-law Louis Stricker, sister-in-law Randi Stricker, nephew Eli Stricker, niece Emma Stricker, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a whole community who knew and loved him.
Patrick is preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen, and his grandparents Fred E. Crosley, Betty Caroline Crosley, Fairy Gaughan (Gigi), and Terrence Gaughan.

May God bless all the Crosley Family! Mr. Crosley was a perfect example of God’s love and joy! I loved seeing his “little girls” running around when my son Stephen played basketball at Roncalli. May he rest in peace.
Pat, what a joy to have known you. Meeting you thru Lori (way back) was the best. You had and have the kindest family and I remember how lucky I thought Lori was. I think I’ve been to almost all major events in your life. You were a great husband, father and son. I’m sure your mom greeted you so go find Skip and enjoy a beer together. Love you:
God bless Pat. To you girls reading this thanks for being as kind & honest as he was.. you did right by him.. and all of us.. god bless you Lori & Molly & Betsy!
Our prayers are with the Crosley family. We have been friends with Sherman and Kathy since Patrick was a little boy. Sherman and my husband worked together at IP&L.
We will continue to keep the entire family in our thoughts.
Prayers for the family and friends during the difficult days ahead.
Mr. Crosley was my first AP class teacher and connected me to a love of history. It’s depressing while we were celebrating finishing the AP World test, not even 6 months later we would be notified of our teacher’s death, framing us as the last full class Mr. Crosley had. I give my condolences to the Crosley family and I hope, at least somewhat, to carry Mr. Crosley’s impact for the rest of my life.
