Denise M. (Bebout) Fisher

Denise M. (Bebout) Fisher, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 6, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed with her three loving daughters and her cherished husband by her side. Denise was born on December 11, 1953 in Cape May, New Jersey to the late Frank and Shirley (Boudreaux) Bebout.

Being raised in a military family, Denise proudly served her country in the United States Navy after graduating from high school. It was during her service in the Navy that Denise met Donald “Don” Fisher. The two wed in Kevlapik, Iceland on August 23, 1974. This union produced their three daughters; Disa, Stefanie, and Lori.

At the conclusion of their active duty Naval service, Don and Denise moved to Indianapolis where they raised their family. Denise worked as an administrative assistant at the Indianapolis Life Company for 23 years and then most recently at the YMCA in Indianapolis for 15 years. Denise retired in 2018.

Upon retirement Denise and Don went on a trip to Italy and Greece. They also enjoyed trips to Pensacola, Florida. When not travelling, Denise could often be found with a crochet needle in her hand or a dog by her side. Denise loved Labrador retrievers, but she specifically loved chocolate labs. Denise loved to be outdoors. She was an avid walker, enjoyed hiking, working in her yard, and gardening.

Spending time with her family was essential, which made Christmas and Thanksgiving Denise’s favorite time of the year. Her pumpkin pie recipe wafted through the house during the holidays and was delicious. What was even more special is that Denise never wrote the recipe down; she baked the pie from her memory every single time she made it. If her health allowed, Denise never missed watching her grandsons play football; she loved watching them play under those Friday night lights. Above all, Denise was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who was extremely proud of her family. Her courageous and passionate spirit will be missed by all of those who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Don Fisher; her daughters, Disa (James) Hunter, Stefanie Barnard, and Lori (Paul) Minnillo; her grandchildren, Savanna Hunter, Wyatt & Nathan Hunter, Tyr Hansen, Tate Minnillo, and Jett Minnillo; and her sister, Valerie (Rick) McCormick.

Denise’s Life Celebration® visitation will be Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the conclusion of visitation on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the church. 11. Teresa and I send our sincere condolences to Don and the family. It’s been 47-years since my arrival at Armed Forces Radio and Television Service – Keflavik. Many good friends from that time who I can’t recall their names, but that’s not the case with Denise and Don. He’d be working back in the television department and I’d be up front on the radio. Even before they were married, Denise would ring to enter bringing Don food or just spend time with him. I needed sunglasses each time because her smile would light up the room. Two of the finest people I knew from my Navy career. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Don, and your lovely family. JOC (Ret) Art Frith
