Dolores Ann Obergfell, a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in her beloved Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was born on September 7, 1947. Dolores’s unwavering spirit and selfless nature touched the lives of everyone around her, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication.
A graduate of St. Philip Neri Grade School and St. Agnes High School, Dolores carried the values instilled in her throughout her life. For 35 years, she served as an Executive Secretary for PR Mallory, where her diligence and integrity made her a respected figure in her field. Yet, it was her selfless personality that truly defined her. Dolores never hesitated to put others first, often foregoing her own needs, radiating a generosity that inspired all who knew her. She always felt unworthy of praise, but to those close to her, her selflessness was more than admirable.
Dolores had a love for sports, especially during her younger years as a passionate Pacers fan in the ABA days, and followed them this past season with an excitement for the team. She aslo becamce a huge Fever fan, following a dinner with Tamika Catchings and became a huge support of Catlin Clark. Her enthusiasm extended beyond the court, as she embraced all forms of sports with a cherished zest and excitement.
An avid seamstress and accomplished quilter, Dolores found joy in creating beautiful works of art that brought warmth and comfort to those she loved. Her hands were skilled, but her heart was even more talented, weaving love into every stitch she crafted. She also had a passion for her 4 legged friends.
Dolores is survived by her siblings, Joseph (Fay) Obergfell, Dennis (Barb) Obergfell and Mary Jo Baecher-Kennelly, David (Sherlee) Wilson, Donald Wilson, Michael (Karen) Wilson, Bob Wilson, brother-in-law Bob Nester; a host of nieces and nephews. She held a special place in her heart for her niece and nephew, Jamie Page and Brad Baecher.
She joins her beloved parents, Norman and Mary Joan (Patrick) Obergfell, her brother James M. Obergfell, and her sister Sharon Nester and sister – in -law Linda Wilson. in eternal rest.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Dolores’s life. A visitation will be held on October 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 6107 S East St, Indianapolis, IN. The following day, a Mass will be held in her honor at St. Jude Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 AM located at 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, IN.
