Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Barnett

Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Barnett, 88, of Crawfordsville, Indiana passed away on April 10, 2021 at Brownsburg Health Care Center. Betty was born on August 17, 1932 in Springfield, Illinois to the late Louis and Lillian (Morgan) Wehner. Betty was wed to the late Lowell Gene Barnett.
Betty attended college at Indiana University. She began working as an RN at Methodist Hospital and went back to receive her Masters Degree in nursing. Betty worked graciously as an RN for 40 years.
Betty was a loving and caring woman who was a very active member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Betty stayed active within the church by taking various leadership roles to facilitate events. In her spare time, Betty loved to be with her family, travel the world and visit the beach.
Survivors include her son David Eugene Barnett and daughter Rebecca Jane “Becky” Barnett; five grandchildren, Kyle, Jenna, Sara, Jeff and Marie; and four great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will not be observed. A graveside service for the family will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville, Indiana where Betty will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. I worked with Betty, at Methodist Hospital, for over 10 years. I learned a lot about how to do/not do while working in Pediatric Ambulatory Care. She was a caring, kind, knowledgeable individual.
