Erik Scott Lake, Jr.

April 22, 2022 ~ April 22, 2022
Erik Scott Lake, Jr., the infant son of Jealinsa (Jean) and Erik Scott Lake, was born at Community South Hospital on April 22, 2022, at 11:56 AM. He weighed 8.7 ounces and was 9 inches long. Baby Erik had his mommy’s nose, his daddy’s face shape and lips, incredibly long legs and feet (little iguana toes!), and sausage fingers just like his grandpa Scott.
Up until April 22, Erik and Jealinsa experienced a very healthy pregnancy except for the occasional fits with morning sickness. Baby Erik loved when his mommy ate any Chinese food, chiletti, and eggs. When not at work, Erik and Jealinsa loved to relax and talk to baby Erik whom they fondly called “Shmokah”. At the last ultrasound, baby Erik waved to his mom and dad. A fighting spirit, baby Erik had a very strong heart. The memory of his short, but very meaningful life will live on in all those who anticipated his arrival. To commemorate baby Erik’s life, Jealinsa and Erik released balloons at Craig Park in Greenwood.
He only knew lots of love while he was here, experiencing lots of cuddles and snuggles from his family members.
Along with his parents, baby Erik is survived by a big sister who was very excited about his arrival, Crystal Lake. Other family members include his paternal grandparents, Lynn (Scott) Fager and Scott Lake; his maternal grandparents, Jean Marie Louis Jean and Lisenene Jean Alezu; paternal great grandparents, Jane Lake, Connie King, and Roy (Margaret) Cartledge; aunts and uncles, Melissa (Joe) Penter, Taylor Wright, Gethro Jean (Sandy Pierre Jean), Junior (Darpha) Jean, Grace Melissa Jean, Rebecca Jean Etienne (Gregory Mack Etienne), and Louise Jean; cousins, Roy McKen Etienne, Junipha Jean, Mason Penter, and Kenedi Penter.
Holding him in heaven, baby Erik was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather, Bradley Lake.
The funeral service for baby Erik will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022, in the chapel at O’Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, IN. 46227, with visitation there beginning at 10:00 AM Friday. Following the funeral service, Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
