Gabriel Jerome Bellarmine Schoettle

May 9, 2025 ~ May 9, 2025

Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Indianapolis, Indiana

Gabriel Jerome Bellarmine Schoettle passed peacefully in the arms of his parents on May 9th, 2025 at Riley Maternity Hospital, Indianapolis. After struggling with intermittent central apnea due to Trisomy 13- a fatal diagnosis, he passed gently into the arms of Jesus.

He was born at 7:26 a.m. and met the eyes of Jesus at 9:48 p.m. the same day. He weighed 4 pounds 10 ounces and was 16 3/4 inches long. He was baptized few hours after birth.

Tear drops, slow and steady, The pain so real and true, God took another angel, And that angel, dear, was you.

Gabriel’s family was blessed with almost 14 hours of lifetime of love and grace from their little Angel. He is the answer to their prayers, and they waited for his birth with joyful expectation. During his brief visit on earth, he enjoyed cuddling, hugging and kissing with his family, drinking mamma’s milk, listening to momma’s heartbeat and napping with daddy. He experienced, holding hands with his parents and big sister, booped by his brothers, being photographed, tickled by maternal grandma and being told “I love you” an uncountable amount of times. He was loved by all who met him, and will be greatly missed.

Gabriel is deeply loved by his mommy and daddy, his siblings, his grandparents, his aunts and uncles, his cousins and many others. Gabriel will always remain his parents’ precious baby and his siblings’ little brother, and they will hold him again in heaven one day.

Gabriel was the son of Lavanya and Vincent Schoettle of Indianapolis (Indiana).

He is survived by three siblings, Anjali, Michael, and Rafael Schoettle, all at home; by his paternal grandparents Jean and Mike Schoettle of Indianapolis; and maternal grandmother, Sarojini Devi Villuri of Visakhapatnam, India, his numerous uncles, aunts and cousins, family and friends.

He reunited with his maternal grandfather Nageswar Rao Villuri and paternal uncle Nick Schoettle in Heaven.

He stands in our hearts as a reminder of strength, perseverance, love, and compassion. Though we will mourn his loss daily, we know we will be reunited in time.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
