Jinny A. Hall

February 12, 1944 ~ December 5, 2025

Born in: Brooklyn, New York
Resided in: Greenwood, Indiana

Virginia Anne Hall, born on February 12, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late William A. & Viola K. Smith, departed this world on December 5, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana. Her journey through life was marked by resilience, creativity, and a profound love for family and friends. Jinny was a dedicated professional who worked tirelessly for Electricities for many years, embodying an unmatched work ethic that inspired those around her.

Beyond her career, Jinny’s true passion lay in nurturing relationships and creating unforgettable experiences for her loved ones. She had an exuberant spirit that brought joy to every gathering. Most cherished were the moments spent with her granddaughter Sarah and her husband Ryan, where laughter and love filled the air. Jinny delighted in the pitter-patter of little feet in her house, as her great-grandchildren added a new layer of joy to her life.

Jinny possessed a remarkable ability to fill her home with beauty and creativity. Her beloved beach house in Topsail Island, North Carolina, was a sanctuary for both her soul and artistic expression. There, she could often be seen collecting pebbles and driftwood, transforming nature’s treasures into elements of her artwork. She took great pride in her gardening, constantly curating stunning floral landscapes that reflected her vibrant personality.

Among her proudest accomplishments was the unexpected companionship she found in adopting a dog named Honey. Initially hesitant about having a four-legged friend, Jinny discovered a bond with Honey that blossomed into a deep friendship. Together, they enjoyed countless adventures, highlighting the beauty of unconditional love.

Jinny is survived by her loving grandchildren: Sarah (Ryan) King, Matthew Cole, and Andrew Cole, great-grandchildren: Nathaniel King, Abigail King, along with a new great-granddaughter due in January, and her brother: Robert A. Smith.

Jinny is preceded in death by her loving daughter Lisa Cole.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Jinny and our family became very close when we all lived in New Orleans back in the 1980s. She was at the birth of our child and became Aunt DeDe to our daughter. We stayed friends after we moved to opposite sides of the country and will long remember the wonderful times we had sharing our lives together.

    Rest in peace, dear friend.

    Chris, Chad and Anne-Claire Mitchell

  2. GG had a hard battle, yet she could smile through it all. Her family was truly there for her. May she rest in the hands of God.
