Joan P. Kirkhoff, 63, of Indianapolis passed away at home on March 11, 2024, with her loving children by her side. Joan was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Eugene & Mary Ann Stephens on April 28, 1960. Joan was a relentless and tenacious fighter over the past several years as she was battling breast cancer. Joan was a faithful parishioner of St. Barnabas Catholic Church for over 30 years. Joan could often be found on her porch sitting with her four-legged companion “King”, along with her prayer book. She was most proud of being a loving, compassionate, and giving mom, “grammy”, sister & aunt. Joan dedicated her life to raising her children and was happiest when spending precious time with her family.
Joan is survived by her son; Patrick (Brandi) Kirkhoff, daughter; Maryann (Thomas Skupien) Kirkhoff, granddaughters; Grace, Reagan & Ava, and siblings; Jeannie (Trent) Bower, Patricia (Geoffrey) Mitchell, Marty (Rose) Stephens, Mark (Susan) Stephens and Phil Stephens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 10:00am-11:30am at St. Barnabas Catholic Church (8300 Rahke Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46217). A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 in the church. Burial will be immediately following at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Was saddened to find out that you had passed away. I remember your face, smile, voice, and hugs to boost my spirits at the desk. You took every day in stride, gracefully and with a smile and a laugh to smooth it over!
