John Lewis Wilson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 14, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana, at the age of 86. Born on March 7, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana, John dedicated his life to his family and his work, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever.

John was a proud graduate of George Washington High School and spent his career as a typesetter. He began his journey at Rogers Typesetting and later started his own business, Triple J. Typesetting. John was known for his strong work ethic, continuing to work diligently until his retirement in 2005.

His passion extended beyond his profession; John was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis 500, always cheering for his favorite racers. His love for sports didn’t end there; he was an avid bowler, achieving a perfect score once, a moment he treasured. Even into his 70s, John showcased his competitive spirit by playing softball, mixing enjoyment with exercise. He was a charter member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, where he contributed as a coach.  Sharing his love for sports with the younger generation, he also coached at the YMCA.  For an impressive 40 years, John ensured the safety of players as a dedicated member of the chain gang at Roncalli High School.

He also leaves behind a sister, Brenda Johnson, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.
