Joseph "Joe" Michael Barine

Joseph (Joe) Barina, age 83, died December 16 at Community South Hospital after losing his battle with Covid.

He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Beverly, daughters Cherie and Carissa and their respective husbands D.R. Foley and Scott Bacon; sisters Joanne Miller, Judy Ploeger and Jean Barina.  Last but not least, his grandchildren Rachel and Mara Foley and Alexandra and Brendan Bacon.

Joe was a Navy veteran and retired after 35 years from ABF Freight System as Regional Vice President. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating and golfing and a lifetime member of Dyes Walk Golf and Country Club.

Joe was definitely the patriarch of the family and always there to support and advise.  His friends will remember him for his wry sense of humor.  Joe lived a full life and will be deeply missed but the memories he helped create will live on.

His wishes were for a private, family only burial.  Services entrusted to O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227.

Guestbook

  1. Bridge View Eye Partners has purchased Treasured Memories Floor Basket – Blue for Joseph “Joe” Michael Barina

  2. Much sympathy to Bev, Cherie, Carissa and family! I have great memories of Mr Barina from the 70’s and 80’s. He and Bev were fantastic neighbors, it was always nice to be at their house. I have many fond memories there. He and my Dad would go snowmobiling too. Take care!

  3. I didn’t get to know Mr. Barina too well, but if children are a reflection of a father’s love, he must have been a wonderful father. I grew up with Cherie and Carissa in Brookfield, WI and they were the sweetest kids. Carissa has a heart of gold and Cherie was a nurturing soul as well. My prayers go out the entire family. May God give you peace and comfort as you grieve your loss. ❤️
