Resided in: Indianapolis, Indiana

Judith C. Field, 89, a beloved artist, devoted family member, passed away peacefully at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 11, 1936, in Indianapolis, she lived a life marked by creativity, compassion, and adventure.

Judy’s talents as an oil painter reflected a deep well of imagination and sensitivity. Her creative spirit extended beyond the canvas; she was known for being an exceptional cook, delighting family and friends with her culinary skills. Her hands wove warmth through knitting and found joy in the friendly competition of bowling. These passions painted a picture of a woman who embraced life’s simple pleasures and infused every moment with love and dedication.

For many years, Judy contributed her efforts to the family business, Field Pest Control, until her retirement in 1990, supporting the enterprise with commitment and unwavering dedication. Alongside her husband, Robert “Bob” Field, she shared innumerable memorable years filled with travel and discovery. Together, they explored the open roads in their RV, indulging in adventures near and far. Their journeys often took them to the serene landscapes of Maine and across the ocean to the rolling hills of Ireland, creating treasured memories that would warm their hearts for a lifetime.

Judy’s legacy lives on richly through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert “Bob” Field; daughters Linda Chappelle, Wanda (David) Lyon, and Sandy Shunk; and stepchildren Robert (Kathy) Field Jr., Maria (Mike) Fazio, and Patrick Field. Her spirit is also carried forward by a host of grandchildren: Josh (Tiffany Woods), Tiffany Ireland, Ashlie Woods, Zachary Shunk, Jaclyn Shunk, Caroline Shunk, Chloe (Luke) Moton, Nathan Chappelle, Kailey Fazio, Anna Fazio, Margaret Fazio, Sarah  Field, and Erin Alford, and 6 great grandchildren. Each carried a unique piece of Judy’s warmth, creativity, and strength within their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harold and Eva (Osman) Okey; her dear brother, Mike Okey; and her grandson, Robert “Joey” J. Field III.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her proud membership in St. Barnabas Catholic Church exemplified her devotion and spirit.
