Kent E. Bauman

Kent E. Bauman, 81, Indianapolis, passed away on May 17, 2022. Mr. Bauman was born December 19, 1940, in Indianapolis, to the late Edward C. Bauman and Lucille (Owens) Brewer. He was married to the late Lynn (Tetrick) Bauman for 41 years, prior to her death in 2006.

He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1958 and proudly served in the United States Navy. Mr. Bauman was employed with the United States Postal Service for 34 years, retiring in 2000. A second generation parishioner of St. Roch Catholic Church, Kent was also a member of the Msgr. M. Downey Knights of Columbus Council #3660. In his younger years, Kent was a competitive runner, finishing many marathons and mini-marathons through the years. He was also an avid hunter, golfer, and also loved fishing. Kent’s memory will be cherished by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents and Lynn, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Joseph Bauman and his sister, Rosalie Tetrick.

Survivors include two daughters, Denise (Steve) Wilson and Debbie (Scott) Kleinbub; grandchildren, Caty (Sam) Kidd, John Wilson, Ashley (Damon) Bogard, and Abbigayle Kleinbub; sister, Susan Laker.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, where prayers will begin at 12:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, in St. Roch Catholic Church.
