Linda S. (Steadham) Malham

October 17, 1962 ~ September 17, 2021
Linda S. (Steadham) Malham, 58, of Greenwood, passed away suddenly at her residence on September 17, 2021. Linda was born in Beech Grove to the late Charles and Mildred “Mickey” (Spect) Steadham on October 17, 1962. Linda grew up attending St. Catherine Catholic Grade School in Indianapolis.
A friend to all in high school, Linda graduated in the class of 1981 at Roncalli High School in Indianapolis where she was a part of student council and numerous other activities. Upon graduating, Linda began working for Meridian Mutual Insurance as an insurance claims adjustor. This company later became State Auto Insurance; Linda was currently employed here and had just reached the milestone of 40 years of dedicated service.
When not working, Linda could be found cheering on any of her numerous sports teams she enjoyed watching such as, the Indianapolis Colts, the Alabama Crimson Tide, the New York Yankees, or Denny Hamlin in Nascar and Graham Rahal in IndyCar. An avid reader, Linda could often be found with a book in her hand. She treasured every moment she could spend time with her family, but especially her precious granddaughter, Zoey. Making memories with her family was paramount in Linda’s life. She truly enjoyed travelling, but specifically to any destination that had a beach; she loved spending time at the ocean.
Linda was a confidant to many friends and family members, but you always knew that if you came to her for advice you would need to accept the loving honesty that came along with it. Her generous heart of gold and love for others was unparalleled; Linda will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, GaGa, and friend to all of those she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed.
Along with both of her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her infant daughter, April Metzler.
On June 17, 2006 Linda wed Mark D. Malham in Las Vegas, Nevada who survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Amy (Greg) Combs; sweet granddaughter, Zoey Combs; Siblings, Cindy Steadham, Chris (Laura) Steadham, Tony Steadham, and Joe (Nancy) Steadham; sister-in-law, Julie Malham North; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
Linda’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Komen Foundation or the Julian Center; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visit www.ORileyFuneralHome.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.
I will miss Linda so much. We worked Catastophe claims together (and a lot of others too). We worked well together and became good friends. I just talked to her last week and was shocked with this news. Love you to mark and Amy and zoey and the family and most of all to Linda. You will be greatly missed. The world was better with you in it.
With deepest sympathy,
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
I’ll start by saying…that’s my girl! I could write a book of the memorable things done, said, laughed about, whispered about, come to some decisions about! I met Linda at Meridian Mutual Ins & trained her coming onboard. I already worked with her mother Mickey Steadham so it was a perfect match to my life. You couldn’t help but like her from the beginning! We didn’t waiver in our 40-year friendship at work & after. Comedy shows, weddings, softball team, even the pig roast in Seymour, IN (at Kent Cardinal’s house). So many things. She’s an Angel now & probably re-arranging things in Heaven (chuckle). Linda will be sorely missed. Condolences to Mark, Amy & family & entire Steadham & Malham family – Loretta Rush
Linda and I have a love for designer bags, and she has a beautiful collection. Dooney & Burke was one of her favorites. I loved your voice, your laugh, and your snorts lol! I will miss you. My condolences to your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Linda Malham brought so many gifts to our life. We will never forget her!
Linda was a friend to everyone. Always made you feel comfortable around her like she’d known you forever. I could hear her on the phone with her customers and she was always respectful and so helpful in resolving their claims. I know she had a great life with Mark, she was so happy. Loved seeing her posts on Facebook of their vacation spots and good times with friends and family. When she spoke of Zoey her eyes would light up. We will all miss her. 2 Corinthians 1:3
Oh, Loretta!!!!!! You could write a SERIES!!!! And you know that she will rearrange things in heaven!
I was associated with Linda through work and she was always kind and helpful. My heart breaks for you all. I am so sorry for your loss.
I am so terribly sorry. She will be missed by her friends at State Auto. Wishing you peace and comfort as you mourn the loss of such a fantastic lady.
Linda was such a beautiful person inside and out. I will miss our talks of Amy and Zoey, the Colts and the Indy & Nascar races. She had the prettiest smile, she could make a bad day into a good day with her smile, just talking with her it was wonderful pleasure and that I got to work with her. She truly loved her family with all of her sweet and caring heart. My deepest condolences go to Mark, Amy & Gregory, and her sweet adorable granddaughter Zoey! Prayers of comfort for all her family & friends at this very difficult time.
I have known Linda for 22 years now, but have worked with her closely for the last 12 year. We talked often about life the job and retirement. I will miss being able to IM her daily or picking up the phone to vent. I used to tell her she reminded me of my mom, because she was always 100% (honest) about how she felt about things. I respected that I could take Linda at face value and she told you the truth no matter what. My prayers are going up for Mark, Amy beautiful Zoey and the rest of the family. Linda will be truly missed.
Linda was a genuine person you could trust and rely on. She helped me through a rough time in my life just by caring, encouraging me and being a friend. What a loss of a light in this world. Praying for her husband and family in this time of grieving. Just heartbreaking.

Sending my Deepest Condolences to Linda’s Family, Friends and Co-Workers. She was a “smiler” and would grin from ear to ear whenever you mentioned her grandbaby “Zoey”.
