Patricia R. Giffel Tobin Schneider, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016. She was born on March 18, 1937 in Indianapolis to Edward and Ruth Havard Giffel. Patricia was a 1955 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. She began her 35 year teaching career at Holy Cross Grade School and retired from Indianapolis Public Schools in 1999. Patricia is survived by her husband, Donald E. Schneider; children, James Tobin Jr. (Lori), Michael Tobin (Denise), P. Kathleen Saylor (Rick); grandchildren, Ann Tobin Pliler (Daniel), Nicole Tobin Wesling (Brian), Amy Tobin Kinnaman (Kevin), Katelyn Saylor, Jonathan Tobin (Kathleen), Matthew Tobin (Jamie); and 9 3/4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held in St. Jude Catholic Church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
