It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas H. Kenter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on May 15, 2025, at the age of 89. Tom was born on March 20, 1936, in Effingham, Illinois, to the late Ralph and Marjorie Kenter, where he spent his early years before embarking on a life filled with service, dedication, and love.

On July 7, 1956, Tom married the love of his life, Jeanette (Jean) Kenter, and together they built a beautiful family. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership, supporting each other through life’s challenges and joys. Tom’s commitment to his family was unwavering, and he instilled in his children the importance of integrity and responsibility, teaching them that when you make a promise, you keep it.

Tom is survived by his loving children; Thomas (Mary) Kenter, Timothy Kenter, Susan Kenter, and James (Antoinette) Kenter, grandchildren; Ryan Kenter, Christopher Kenter, Kati (Andrew) Evans, and AJ Kenter, great-grandchildren; Cameron, Owen, Ella, and Sofia, along with his brother; David (Patricia) Kenter.

Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years; Jean, infant daughter; Shannon Kenter, and brother; Ralph Kenter.

Visitation will be held at St. Roch Catholic Church (3600 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46227) on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 11:00am-12:15pm, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12:30pm. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery immediately following.

As we celebrate the life of Thomas H. Kenter, we remember a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and brought joy to those around him. His memory will forever be a blessing, and he will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
