Wilson Odell Crook Jr, age 91 of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, May 10th, 2025. Wilson was born to the late Wilson Odell Crook Sr. and Naomi Brooks Crook on February 22, 1934, in Hartsville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by Bonnie Helen (Green) Crook, his beloved wife of 69 years.
Wilson retired from Amtrak in Beech Grove, Indiana, in 1999. Wilson was a member of Happy Hollow Missionary Baptist Church #2 of Indianapolis. Indiana. Wilson loved telling people about the Lord, His salvation, and spreading the gospel.
Wilson enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching baseball, bowling, collectibles, and working on cars, trucks most of all, Mustangs. His stories about the good ol’days, his love, and infectious laughter will be cherished and missed by many.
Wilson was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Neely, grandchildren Eric Crook, Michael Morgan, Melissa Morgan, and Amy Neely, Siblings Wilma Hufbacker, Myrtle Wilson, Irene Emler, Monroe Crook, Bill Crook, and Billy Eugene Crook.
Wilson is survived by his children, Steve Crook and wife Melodie, Kimberley Sauer and companion Bobby Smith, and Lisa Zahm and husband, Ralph. His daughter Pamela Morgan passed away 3 days after Wilson’s passing. Siblings, Jewell Dean Salyer, Ray Crook, Sammy Crook, Ralph Crook, 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will celebrate Wilson’s life with visitation on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm at O’Riley-Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Funeral service by Elder Jimmy Thompson will follow at 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 17, at 3:00 PM (Tennessee time) at Haysville Cemetery in Lafayette, Tennessee, by Elder Mark Gregory.
