Barbara L. Sida

Barbara L. Sida, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Franciscan Hospice House. Barb was born in Indianapolis on August 4, 1940 to the late Henry and Mary (Engle) Simon. On October 5, 1963 she was united in marriage to Joseph L. Sida and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1992.

Barb was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. She retired as a billing specialist from Meridian I.Q. Logistics in Indianapolis. Barb loved to bowl, read books, and play euchre in her euchre club, of which she enjoyed for 40 years. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Simon, Frances Simon, Janet Helft, and Jerry Simon.

Survivors include her four children, Joe (Sherri) Sida of St. Louis, Angie (Jon) Adams of Indianapolis, Michelle (Jay) Payne of Columbus, Indiana, and Kevin (Heather) Sida of Edinburgh; her grandchildren, Kelsey Sida, Ian, Andrew, and Nicholas Adams, Tanner, Tucker, and Jackson Payne, Keegan and Zoey Sida; and her siblings, Carole DeCapua, Mary Jo Ray, Linda Simon, Ellen Sharp, Joe, Jim, Tom, and David Simon, and Cathy Jacobs.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Barbara Sida from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. Additional calling will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29th at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian Street, Greenwood. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
