Carl S. Krutz, 62, Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly July 13, 2022, at Eskenazi Health. Carl was born April 4, 1960, in Beech Grove, to the late Samuel Freeman and Virginia (Lucas) Krutz.
Carl graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1978 and continued his education at the University of Indianapolis. Carl held various jobs during his life; he worked in construction for many years and as a forklift operator at R.R. Donnelley. He enjoyed working as a groundskeeper at Winding River and Smock Golf Clubs, ensuring that the courses always looked their very best. Carl loved to play cards, work crossword puzzles, fishing, and was an animal lover. He especially liked to feed the squirrels. Carl made it a daily goal to make other people smile. He will be fondly remembered for his happy go lucky personality, a great sense of humor, and his care for others.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Krutz.
Survivors include his children, Amanda and David Krutz; brother, Dr. Samuel (Melissa) Krutz; twin sister, Carol (Loran) Petro; sister-in-law, Jaylee Krutz; grandchildren, Kaleb Limp, Madilynn Krutz, and Samuel Krutz; life companion, Regina Brown and her daughter, Starla (Richard) Rowley and her children, Amanda Freese and Calum Rowley.
Carl’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 4 to 8 p.m., at the O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East St. (US 31), Indianapolis. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
