This tragedy has laid heavy on our hearts here at Rosewalk. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a good nurse and friend. My condolences to her family. May she continue to watch over her beautiful daughter from above.

Coach & Julie,
I have no words, and even if I possessed an adequate vocabulary there is nothing anyone could say to lessen the grief that overwhelms you. However, you are being continually lifted up in prayer to a God who is able to comfort you with His “peace that passeth all understanding.” Please know that I love you and your daughters are in a far better place.
Doug and Julie, My heart breaks for you guys! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you guys!
I’m getting chills just thinking of what to say. what does someone even say, Mallory? You were by far the best basketball player I have ever had the pleasure of playing with and against, you always had a smile on your face and even when you were angry, frustrated, etc., you would use the frustration to better yourself and the people around you. You will always be part of my greatest memories from middle school to high school…from basketball sleepovers, to summer camps, to lifting in the morning and comin back to practice..and I thank you everyday for teaching me hard work, dedication, and consistency because without you always riding my ass and pushing me, I never would have been half the athlete I was, and besides sports, you helped me be a better person…you were faith filled, you were humble, you were the epitome of a kindred spirit. I shake with anger thinking of anyway hurting you, but I’ve learned the most precious lives and hearts are usually the ones taken from us first, teaching those left behind to hold each day with meaning and gratitude. I love you so much Mallory, Left handers R Life
Doug,Julie and family. There are no words. My prayers will be with you. I pray that The Good Lord holds tightly to you and you to Him. God Bless

Mallory I will also remember you as the little girl on the softball diamond who became an amazing athlete in several sports. You’ve always been a sweet, wonderful and loving woman with a great laugh. I know your greatest joy is Camilla and she will be loved and taken care of and raised exactly as you would have wanted her to be by the people you loved the most. Rest in peace Mallory know you are forever loved.
My deepest condolences to the Opel family. I had the pleasure to know the family and coach Mallory at a young age. Such a tragedy to such a great family!! RIP Mallory and Merideth
Our prayers and love are with each of you as you say goodbye to your girls. Absolutely heartbroken and devastated.
I don’t have words to describe how heartbroken I am. I wanted to always remember Doug as one of my favorite houseboys at the DG house at Butler and grandfather to Camilla Rose, who reminds me of the first foster baby my husband and I had. I can’t imagine how he and Julie will get through this and I pray that Camilla grows up knowing how loved she is. ߒ
Sending Love and Prayers to the Opel Family!! Pat Sells
I am at a loss of words. Julie, I remember you speaking fondly of Mallory and Meredith. I will keep you, your family and especially sweet Camilla in my thoughts and prayers.
With heavy hearts and open arms. Your friends, Jim and Gerri Lynn
I just cannot stop thinking about Morgan. I worked with Morgan a little while and fell in love with her sweet spirit! All I can think about is all of the stories she would tell about her amazing sisters! It was no secret just how much she adored both of them. And her precious baby niece! She was so happy and proud to be an Aunt! I always Loved seeing the pictures that she would get in her texts from Mallory! A huge smile would come upon her face. She was definitely a family person! I was so excited to have the pleasure of meeting sweet Meredith! Lots of prayers and Love to Morgan and all of the family and friends! I lost my sister 12-26-97 and I was completely devastated! I just cannot imagine losing two! So so very sorry for your loss!!! I Love YOU, Morgan!!!
We are lifting all up in prayer.
Praying that all are feeling the embrace of God!

Sending many heartfelt condolences to the Opel family. I got to know Doug during my years working for the Indianapolis Star. He’s a good man who you always looked forward to seeing at an event. I was able to keep in touch with him occasionally via Facebook and told him recently how cute that granddaughter is. Doug, I wish I could offer you and your family more than sympathy over this tragic loss. I am thinking about you, your wife and all your loved ones during this difficult time.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Please remember God’s promise: 'And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Doug, There are no words to make any of this seem right. Please know that you and your family and friends of the girls are in our thoughts and prayers., Debbie, Emory and Darcy Pardieke
Please accept my family’s condolences. May the God of comfort give you peace during this very difficult time. I hope you can find solace in the promise at John 5:28, 29 – “Do not be amazed at this…all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.” After this promised resurrection, we can look forward to being reunited with our loved ones in peaceful and happy conditions on earth (Psalms 37:11, 29).
My parents and the rest of our family recently lost my brother at the same time you lost your girls. They were actually at O’Riley at the same time. Anyways, there are “no words to say” to express my condolences. I am truly so very sorry for your losses. My love, and most deepest prayers go out to you. And I truly mean that!
Doug and Julie,
May God bless and keep your daughter in his loving arms for eternity.
