Michael J. Irvin

December 4, 1981 ~ March 22, 2021
Michael J. Irvin, 39, of Indianapolis, passed away suddenly at his residence on March 22, 2021. Michael was born on December 4, 1981 in Indianapolis to Robert “Jeff” Irvin and Dianna (Bartholomew) Irvin who survive.
Michael attended Perry Meridian High School where he had many friends. Most recently, Michael worked at Tom’s Barbershop as a talented barber.
When Michael was not at the barbershop, he was typically spending time with his beloved daughter, Nevaeh. Michael was an excellent father. He enjoyed watching television shows and was quite the movie buff. Michael did not know a stranger and that was always reflected through his vast group of friends. There are many fond memories of their horseshoe tournaments in the summertime. Above all, Michael was a very kind and generous individual. His sense of humor and love for those around him will be greatly missed.
Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert J. Irvin and Margie (Heib) O’Harrow, and his maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Constance (Woodward) Bartholomew.
Along with his parents, survivors include his precious daughter, Nevaeh L. Irvin; brother, Alan (Cathy) Irvin; sister, Tracy (Brent) Berry; a niece, Carah Laufketter; a nephew, Zane Irvin; longtime significant other, Saundra Mathes; and a host of extended relatives and dear friends.
Family and friends will gather for the visitation on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday in the funeral home beginning at 12:00 PM. Just this past summer when I was up for a baseball tournament, Mike came to watch my son play ball. After the game the 3 of us were in my hotel and Mike says “you know anyone this big and sexy”. While he rubs his belly. I looked at my son smiled looked at Mike and said yeah… Santa Clause. He spit his drink all over the hotel couch as we laughed and laughed. I love him so much.
I knew Mike since 1st/2nd grade. We spent countless hours playing as little kids. We parted ways as we grew up but always seem to run into him. Once he started cutting hair at Toms I got reacquainted with an old friend who got to meet my kids and reminisce about the good old days and he even cut my dads hair for the past couple years. He was also smiling, loved joking with my kids and my dad. Rest in Peace my friend
So sorry for your loss
