Nate Raab

Nate earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis and was passionate about his work as an audio-visual engineer and musician.
Nate was the most loving husband and father. Nate and Bekah tied the knot on August 11, 2018, and would have celebrated 5 years of marriage together. Nate loved spending time with his son, Elijah. In addition, Nate was also very excited for the arrival of their new baby boy, Arlo, in December.

Nate was incredibly intelligent and was curious about everything. He relied on his faith and loved to be in nature every chance he got. He enjoyed reading, providing for his family, and especially loved his Sprinter van. Nate embraced the values of love, equality, and advocacy for himself, his family, and friends. He was truly one of a kind, and his presence will be dearly missed by countless individuals.

Dear Bekah and family,
I am so saddened by the news of Nate’s death. He was one of the very best students I ever taught at UIndy. I will hold tight to his memory. May you and your sons find solace and grace. Pax.
Nate and I played in the chapel together. He was a loving guy and listened to whatever you had to say and loved to serve and play music! He was such a great guy to be around! I am so happy to have met him at UIndy and worship along side him and I’m happy to have been there the day he married Bekah. My heart breaks so much for his family and Bekah so much!
Though we weren’t close, I was fortunate to have met and heard Nate play music multiple times around Indy. I remember talking and hanging out with him one winter by the fire escape of the Burnside Inn in Mass Ave. we discussed hopes, dreams, and the happiness we had to look both back and forward to in our lives for what felt like hours. Nate was purely and genuinely a good soul. He was someone who’s company just warmed up a room, and brought the best out of those around him. Nate will truly be missed by the world.
Nate, I’m gonna miss you man. Not only because we played together in church or because we went to the same school but because you were a real friend. You were always so kind, genuine, and honest. I’m so glad that I was able to be at your wedding and that you and Bekah got the chance to meet my wife. It breaks my heart that you’re gone but you won’t be forgotten!
Met Nate only a few months back, and I am unbelievably lucky to have been able to talk to him the precious few times I did. He was genuinely brilliant— and so kind and insightful. I recently had a difficult entry into the world of live sound, and Nate’s sage advice and willingness to guide really gave me confidence to keep going. My most sincere condolences to his wife and family. God bless you, Nate.
I was grateful to get to know Nate through working in the chapel together and playing in the worship band together. He was a wonderful soul and will be missed greatly. Sending my love and deepest condolences to Bekah, his family, and all who loved Nate.
Really enjoyed getting to know Nate and Bekah at Old Bethel UMC several years back. I had the pleasure of playing piano in the 2nd Service Worship Band under Nate’s direction. He was a truly fabulous musician and I learned SO much from his leadership. Loved getting to know Sweet Bekah. You all are in our prayers and trusting Our Lord to provide all of your needs. Bless you Bekah, Elijah and sweet new Baby.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
We loved the times that we were able to share with Nate. We remember meeting Nate and swinging on a swing. Later we met at Mike and Amy’s current house and played music, listened to stories, played in the snow or shared memories of times long ago (for Mike and Scott). We walked downtown Indy, shared good food outside and went to a Christmas celebration. We went to a concert downtown that Nate took care of and wished that we could have seen you all this year. We continue to pray for all of you I this time of loss.
Nate worked as an AV Engineer for the non-profit group I worked for. He was knowledgeable, experienced and professional. While I had only met him this year I know how much he valued and loved his family and work. I’m saddened by this loss and pray for his entire family. Best wishes.
Love you son
