Paul Joseph Mayer

September 25, 1960 — March 31, 2022

Paul Joseph Mayer, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away during the late evening hours of March 31, 2022, at Community South Hospital. Paul was born on September 25, 1960, to the late Raymond J. and Patricia (Norris) Mayer in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was raised in St. Roch Catholic Church, attending elementary school there and then going on to graduate high school from Roncalli in the class of 1978.

In 1986 Paul and his friend, Brett Stow formed Absolute Printing Equipment, Inc. out of a 3-car garage in Indianapolis. That business still exists today as a 40,000 square foot warehouse providing service for printing equipment in various locations across the United States. Paul also partnered with Perfecta USA to provide services internationally in numerous countries in Europe, Canada, and Mexico. 35 years of dedicated service to their company, Paul worked up until his hospitalization. He was an incredibly hard worker.

When not at the shop, Paul enjoyed riding his red Harley Davidson motorcycle, listening to a good record, or tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. He enjoyed many camping trips at Black Hawk Campground near Lieber State Park where he loved to sit around a campfire spending time with his daughters. Paul will be remembered as a strong-willed man who was extremely hardworking with the most generous heart. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and employees alike.

Along with both of his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Mayer.

Paul is survived by his three daughters, Angela (Brian) Evans, Stephanie Mayer, and Ella Mayer; his granddaughter, Laura Evans, and a grandson to be born this coming August, Ezra Evans; his siblings, Kathy (Larry) Delpha, Richard (Donielle) Mayer, Margaret Mayer (Gary Ogland), Ann Marie Mayer, Mary Lou Mayer, and Patty (Rex) Ralston; a host of nieces, nephews, employees, and extended family members.
