Ruth A. Van Note

Ruth A. Van Note, 86, Indianapolis, passed away February 10, 2018. Ruth was born April 11, 1931, in Indianapolis, to the late John K. and Mildred (Eden) Milner.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ruth worked for Marsh Supermarkets for a number of years. She previously was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and more recently a member of SS Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Greenwood. Ruth loved to visit flea markets and always looked forward to her favorite fall season. She made an excellent raspberry pie that everyone always looked forward to eating at family gatherings. She will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Betty, Ralph, Dennis, John, and Martha; great grandchild, Zoe Martin.

Survivors include her sons, Michael J., Richard B. (Laura), Joseph B. (Anna), and Stephen L. Van Note; daughters, Linda K. (Bud) Martin, Mary A. (Annie McCarty) Van Note, Theresa B. (John) Burris, Monica J. Paul, and Patricia A. Van Note; brother, Davis L. (Judith) Milner; sisters, Mildred J. (Edward) Holloran, and Eileen Thie; step-brother, Gary Milner; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, where morning prayers will be said at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, in SS Francis & Clare Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
