Kenneth E. Nichols

Kenneth E. Nichols, 74, Indianapolis, passed away December 3, 2021, at his residence. Kenny was born February 21, 1947, one of four children to the late William Albert and Berniece (Calvert) Nichols. He married Linda Lou (Guinn) on June 23, 1984, and immediately made her family his own.
He graduated from Muncie Southside High School and earned a business degree Ball State University. Kenny worked for Westinghouse in Muncie for several years before settling into a career in security. He worked for various companies including Pepsi, GM Truck & Bus, and most recently for Securitas. Kenny was a proud member of the NRA and enjoyed discussing politics. A man strong in his faith, he was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed playing euchre, shooting pool, caring for his yard, working crossword puzzles, and fishing on his pontoon boat. Above all, Kenny was a devoted family man. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and humble nature.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Nichols and a sister, Jannie Chambers.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; son, Tracy Smart; daughter, Teresa (Paul) Long; brother, Jim (Sandy) Nichols; grandchildren, Stacy (Jerry Jr.) Walker, Christina (Nate Wilson) Hall, and Katheryn Hall; great grandchildren, Jaythan, Aidyn, Logan, Kamdyn, Faith, and Isabelle.
Kenny’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be Friday, December 17, 2021, 5 to 7 p.m., at the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., Indianapolis. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. Kenny will be buried at Tomlinson Cemetery, Muncie, following a 1 p.m., graveside service Saturday, December 18, 2021. Such a wonderful man, I know every Christmas at the reunions we would sit and just devour Mothers cheesball and talk about the current political issues.. he always let you know what was wrong.
