Alice P. Neu

Alice P. Neu, 89, died November 8th, 2021 surrounded by her family at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis; IN. Alice was born February 4th, 1932 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts to the late Bernardo and Francesca Germaine.

After graduating high school and continuing her education in nursing; she met her sailor husband, John Neu at New Port, RI. dance hall. They married on July 16, 1955, moved to Indiana, and raised 5 children, JoAnn Dawson, John Neu Jr., Steve Neu, Sandy Simpson (Eric), David Neu (Erin). They became Charter members of St. Barnabas Parish and over the years she was active in the church. Alice was President of the Ladies Club, room mom, lunch lady, and was an avid volunteer.

The family grew with 19 grandchildren Michelle (Mike)Berger, Amy (Dan) Gandolph, Christina (Chris) Erazmus, Joey Dawson, Katelyn Dawson, David Jr. (Brittany) Neu, Mackenzie (Jesse) Purvis, Alex Neu, Emily (Cole) Goodman, Nick Neu, Anthony (Courtney) Neu, Ruth, Brady, Sam, and Charlie Neu, Eric ll, Johnathon, Reis, and Dominic Simpson and 20 great grandchildren.

Alice is the happiest when she is making pasta for the family and friends, sitting on the bleachers yelling/cheering for her kids and grandkids with her Italian accent, dancing at weddings, and beach vacations. Her greatest joy was gathering the whole family for traditional holiday meals and celebrations, and long summer weekends at Painted Hills.

Alice will be remembered for her Italian flair and fierce love for her family. She was an incredible mother and grandmother not only to her own, but to the entire community.

Her life celebration will be at O’Riley funeral home Thursday, November 11th from 4-8pm with a closing prayer service at 7:45pm. Services will be held Friday, November 12, at 1:00pm at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, and will be followed by a Christian burial at Calvary Cemetery.

She was Proceed in Death by Husband John A. Neu and Great Grandson Luca Berger.
