Aubrey R. Crick, Sr.

Aubrey R. Crick, Sr., 89, Indianapolis, passed away May 1, 2019. Mr. Crick was born November 24, 1929, in Indianapolis, to the late Aubrey and Helen (Engle) Crick-Johnston.

He graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1948 and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked at L.S. Ayres in data processing, retiring in 1987. A very spiritual man, Mr. Crick was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and previously a member of Plainfield Baptist Church. He was also an accomplished woodworker and made countless clocks for friends and family members. A true handyman, he enjoyed volunteering his time fixing various things at the church and also used this talent in his post retirement work in real estate. He will be fondly remembered for his strong devotion to God and his family.

Mr. Crick was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Donna Lou (Jones) Crick; brothers, Lawrence and Robert Crick; sister, Dixie Crick.

Survivors include a son, Aubrey R. “Chip” (Jan) Crick of Indianapolis; daughters, LuAnn (Robert) Dwinell of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Donna R. (Richard) Leeka of Indianapolis, and Marla (Jerome) Brewster of Plainfield; sister, Wilma Whitaker of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Annie, Derek, and Corrine; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Ava, Austin, Brody, Aubrey, and Natalee.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019, in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street. The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 200 Sunset Blvd., Greenwood, IN 46142.
