Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Indianapolis, Indiana

Beatrice “Bea” Remmetter-Paar, born on March 2, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late John & Loretta Remmetter, passed away peacefully in her beloved hometown on June 24, 2026, surrounded by her dear family. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with quiet courage, kindness, and a steadfast love.

Throughout her 78 years, Bea was a constant presence of warmth and generosity to all who had the privilege of knowing her. From her earliest days in Indianapolis, she developed a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life and the bonds that tie us together. Friends and neighbors recall her gentle spirit—always ready with a warm hug, a kind word, or a helping hand.

Bea’s pride in her roots shone through every season and every chapter. She cultivated deep connections within her community, cherishing both lifelong friendships and the comfort of familiar places. Whether she was sharing stories from years past or forging new memories, Bea’s laughter and open-heartedness drew others in, making each moment spent with her feel truly special. Being an organ recipient herself, Bea had a passion for helping others through the Indiana Donor Network. She was part of the IDN Honor Guard and even had the opportunity to fly with them to transport recovered organs, so that someone else could experience a better life.

Bea went to Scecina High School and graduated in the Class of 1966. She was a stay-at-home mom for a while with her daughters and went on to work in Inside Sales for over 36 years.

Bea loved being with family and was always a huge cheerleader for her daughters and her 3 grandsons, which she referred to as her “3 Little Angels”. She loved to travel with Jerry to Northern Wisconsin to fish and enjoyed spending time at Lake Shafer in the summer. She also enjoyed visiting Museums, Classical Music, and the Ballet. She was a huge sports fan always supporting her grandsons’ sporting events and cheering on Notre Dame, the Colts, Pacers, and Fever.

Bea was the happiest when she was surrounded by family. She loved having sing-alongs at home and game night. Bea loved to cook and her nieces and nephews would tell you it wasn’t truly a family event without Aunt Bea’s “taco salad”.

Bea overcame so many obstacles in her own health journey that she felt passionate about helping others that may be going through a similar journey. Her positivity radiated to those around her, and she never gave up hope.

Her journey was not without its hardships, yet Bea faced each with grace and unwavering dignity. In moments of sorrow as well as celebration, she exemplified resilience, inspiring those around her to approach life with the same quiet strength.

Bea is survived by her loving husband of 24 years; Jerry Paar, daughters; Kathleen (Harold) Ducote, and Kimberly (Luis) Stephens-Quispe, grandsons; Matthew & Lukas Quispe, and Gus Ducote, sisters; Madona (Mike) Koers, Theresa Howell, and Mary (Ed) Quiett, along with her grand pups; Oakley & Oliver.

Bea is preceded in death by her siblings; Tom Remmetter, Larry Remmetter, and Karen Smeltzer.

Bea’s legacy is one of love enduring—a love that will continue to be felt and remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a trail of cherished memories: warm conversations at kitchen tables and the unspoken comfort she gave so freely.

As we gather to honor her memory, we reflect on the tenderness and joy she brought into our lives. Bea’s story is not only one of a life lived, but of a heart given freely, again and again.

In accordance with her wishes and in recognition of the love she shared, services celebrating the life of Beatrice “Bea” Remmetter-Paar will be held in Indianapolis. Details of these services will be shared with all who wish to pay their respects and remember Bea’s remarkable journey in the near future.

Though she is no longer with us in body, Bea’s light remains—illuminated in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for all donations to be made to the Indiana Donor Network (3750 Guion Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46222). The family would also like to thank all of Bea’s caregivers especially the Heart and Lung Transplant team at Methodist Hospital.
