Betty Ann (Schoenig) McGeehan, 96, longtime Noblesville resident, entered into eternal rest and was reunited with her beloved Patrick, on May 14, 2025. Mrs. McGeehan was born on September 3, 1928, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late Louis J. and Elizabeth (Gribben) Schoenig. She married Patrick J. McGeehan on October 6, 1951, and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1990.
A graduate of Tuckahoe High School, Betty Ann graduated from Marywood University in 1950. Before starting her family, she worked as a secretary in Rockefeller Center for Sinclair Oil. After marrying Pat, the family lived in Blauvelt, New York; South Bend, Indiana; Noblesville, Indiana; Libertyville, Illinois and eventually settled back in Noblesville in 1989. She did return to work later in life as the credit manager at Jacobsons. A devout Catholic, Betty Ann was a loyal member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where she served as a sacristan, extraordinary minister, and on the Altar and Rosary Societies. She was also a longtime volunteer at Riverview Hospital and past president of the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary.
The consummate hostess, Betty Ann loved to entertain. Her welcoming spirit, beautiful table settings, imaginative mind, and ability to make everyone feel special were wonderful talents in creating the best holidays and parties for any occasion. While Christmas was an all-time favorite, Betty Ann also loved to celebrate the Fourth of July on the lake, welcoming friends, friends of friends, and family every year. She was an avid bridge player, playing with many groups through the years. Betty Ann will be fondly remembered by her loving family.
She is survived by five children, Peter (Donna) McGeehan, Brian McGeehan, Tricia (Greg) Theisen, Brendan (Holly) McGeehan, and Catharine (Craig) McBride; brother, Richard Schoenig; grandchildren, Sean (Jennifer) and Ryan (Shauna) McGeehan; Kathleen (R.J.) Theisen-Stuart and Patrick Theisen; Mary Beth (Alec) Wolf, Molly, Kiernan, and Conner (Erin) McGeehan; Cameron McBride.
