Carolyn A. Moon

Carolyn A. Moon, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day, 2018. Carolyn was a native of Rensselaer, Indiana, and graduated from Ball State University School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at Methodist Hospital in the PICU. She held certificates in pediatric intensive care and orthopedics. Most recently, she worked as a post-operative Registered Nurse at OrthoIndy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Moon.
Survivors include her life partner of 17 years, Greg Lynn and his daughter Danielle (Scott) Steele, her mother, Valerie Brunton, her brothers, Michael (Tianne) and Tom Moon, and her sister Kathleen (Joe) Engle. She took great pride in her nephews, Joseph, Tyler, and Travis, and her niece, Selah.
Carolyn had a lifelong love of dogs, gardening, boating, and waterskiing. To honor Carolyn’s memory, please consider adopting a shelter pet or make a donation to Indy Pit Crew Animal Rescue; envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Carolyn’s life on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
