Chantale Jean-Baptiste, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 26, 2023. Chantale was born in Belladere, Haiti to the late Anselme & Sylvie Jean-Baptiste on August 17, 1964. Chantale moved to New York over 30 years ago and then made her home in Indianapolis. She loved the Lord and was very strong in her faith. She was a wonderful mother to her children and an amazing mentor to many others. She loved her children and it was important to her to make their lives the very best she could. Chantale was kind, quiet and had a servant’s heart. She loved feeding others and taking care of their needs when she could. She loved to cook and would feed anyone that she thought may be hungry. She enjoyed giving to others. She would often take others into her home that were less fortunate and nurture them. Chantale will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Chantale is survived by her husband; Georges Romain, children; Natachele (Kenol) Oscar, Ninekisha Romain, Kemberly Romain, Ashauntey Romain and Mirlande (Ricot) Volcy, grandchildren; Carmelina, Nataniela and Ephrayim, brothers; Jacques, Kethler (Jessica), sisters; Julise, Edruse, Ritarre Chilie, Variola and Erna (Kitson) Philostin and brothers; Jamacia & Enel.
Chantale is preceded in death by her brother; Lesly and sisters; Margaret and Isonia.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10:30 am- 11:00 am at Bethel United Methodist Church (5252 W. 52nd St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46254), with Funeral Services immediately following at 11:00 am. Entombment will take place at Washington Park North Cemetery.
