Chet was a very dear man to my heart. I have known him all my life, like a 2nd father to me. He was a good man, a really good man. My heart is breaking for his family who loved him so well and so deeply. And my heart is breaking for his beloved wife who took care of him in every way until he passed into Glory. I remember so many things growing up with this family. He was a man of few words, but when he had something to say, you listened, you respected. He had a full life as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and left a great legacy for them all. He lives in all of them and he lives in our hearts until we meet again. He will be waiting for us all at the Heavenly Gates. My thoughts and prayers and love are always with this family.

I started working for the ARC when I was 19. Chase Mechanical Air was the HVAC contractor for our building. Shortly after I started working there they implemented a no smoking policy for inside the building. Chet refused to follow that rule. This made it easy to find him. I’d leave my office and smell for his pipe. He taught me a lot about air handlers and scheduling them to come on for the different zones. Always patient and kind. I had no idea that 15 years later I’d go on a blind date with his grandson and layer become Chet’s granddaughter. I felt loved Everytime I walked in the room Chet was in. I’ll miss him so much. Whenever I smell a pipe I’ll think of Chet and I’ll hear his laugh.
Some memory’s I have of Grandpa was coming over to the house to play in the summer months and seeing grandpa outside with a water hose in his hand! He was always washing and fixing something when it was nice outside. I would watch him work while I was playing outside! I also loved the smell of his pipe! He was the only man I seen with a pipe like his. Now when I use a water hose outside I always think of grandpa. I love my water hose and Im picky like grandpa when it comes to taking care of my things and making things look perfect.
I will always remember the smell of grandpa’s pipe, always smiling and his laugh is like no other. He was a perfectionist with cars, if I asked him to check something on my car I expected to be there for 5 hours, lol. Always in garden, mowing or in garage. Busiest man I knew. He loved his great grandchildren so much always smiled when we came. He loved making them smile. And I never met or will I another man who loved a woman as much as grandma. If he had a hose in his hand expect to get wet, he would get you. Then we he started getting sick he would talk to me for hours about his Blood pressure. Honestly it drove me crazy, but I would love to have one more 4 hour conversation with him. Love him, it will never be same with out him. Hope you are loving it in heaven pawpaw. Until I see you again hugs and kisses.
