Cozette E. Lowder
67, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away surrounded by her family on July 31, 2026. Cozette was born in Omaha, Nebraska on February 22, 1959, to Wilber “Lynn” & Celestine Jones. In the years that followed Cozette’s family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she would graduate from Southport High School in 1977. Cozette loved learning and she went on to graduate from Indiana University School of Nursing in 1992. She spent the majority of her career working at Methodist Hospital with the Open Heart Surgery Team and Lung Transplant Team. She also worked her last few years prior to retirement at Eagle Highlands Surgery Center until 2020.
Cozette loved to travel the world, but she was extremely fond of Europe and always enjoyed her time there. Cozette also loved being at the beach. She loved to walk with her daughter and husband for hours. She could often be found cooking for her family at home. Cozette loved to sing and dance. She sang like an angel and people loved to listen to her beautiful voice. She loved having her kids and grandchildren over and spending quality time with them.
Cozette really enjoyed “self-care”, such as getting a facial or having her nails done. She enjoyed visiting with the customers and the employees in each salon. She loved people and never met a stranger. Her favorite form of “self-care” was when her loving, adoring daughter, Jesslyn styled her hair for her. This was the definition of relaxation for Cozette.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years where she loved to volunteer her time and talents. She was also a member of the Alter Society at St. Jospeh’s as well. She always had fun with friends at the Moose Lodge where she was also a member.
Cozette had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh, and laughing herself. Sometimes to the point of literally rolling on the floor! She was loved by so many people and she herself loved hard. She considered you family, even if you didn’t share her bloodline. She lit up a room wherever she went and she will be missed dearly.
Cozette is survived by her loving husband; Brian Lowder, children; Charles (Michele) Fellers, and Jesslyn (Joseph) Wallace, grandchildren; Samantha (Codi) Culp, Spencer Brooking, Chase Fellers, Charles Fellers Jr., and Leo Wallace, great-grandchildren; Maverick, Gracelynn, and Hudson, mother; Celestine Jones, and siblings; Toni Jones, Debra Jones, and Shelley Stewart-Stevens.
Cozette is preceded in death by her father; Wilber “Lynn” Jones, and sister; Donna Harvey.
