Daniel E. Pavey, 71, of Beech Grove passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in Indianapolis. Born November 11, 1947 in Indianapolis, Dan was the son of the late Eugene L. Pavey, Jr. and Dorothy Mae (Yoder) Pavey. On January 25, 1969 he was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Pavey and she survives.

Dan was a 1965 graduate of Southport High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in computer technology from Purdue University. Later in life, he earned a master’s degree in project management from ITT Technical Institute. He worked as a project manager for many years; in 2012 he retired from Information Services Agency of City of Indianapolis-Marion County. After retirement he enjoyed his position as lead driver for Enterprise Rental Car.

Dan was a faithful member of St. Roch Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Monsignor Downey Council #3660, and the American Legion Post #355. Dan enjoyed having lunch once a month with his fellow classmates from the St. Roch Catholic School class of 1961.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Pat Pavey; three daughters Julie A. (Christopher) Dann of Jacksonville, Florida, Andrea M. Pavey of Carmel, and Christie M. (Jason) Bothwell of Beech Grove; two sisters, Rita K. Lang of Indianapolis and Mary Sue (Bob) Jones of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Caleb, Noah, and Jonah Dann, Bailee and Brantley Bothwell; and two great granddaughters, Mackenzee and Brynlee.

Along with his parents, Dan is also preceded in death by his brother, Timothy A. Pavey and his sister, Kathy A. Lawless.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Dan Pavey from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. Additional calling will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to CYO or American Diabetes Association.   1. Loved coming to your 4th of July celebrations & it was obvious that Dan really liked hosting them. Ron & I enjoyed when the two of you stopped at our booth at the Covered Bridge Festival for several years. I’m so sorry for your loss of a great husband & father.

  2. Dan was an awesome Project Manager for years at ISA. Everyone who worked with him had great positive experiences. He had a way of engaging people and making them want to get things done. He was missed the moment he retired from ISA. I am sure so many more will miss him now.

He was always professional, knowledgeable, and fair with me and with others. It was an honor and pleasure working with and for Dan. My most sincere sympathies go to his family. He was a good and decent man and I am better having known him.

  7. Dan was the son of Gene PAVEY. Gene was my banker when I was in business. Dan and I shared a lot at work (Enterprise). He was certainly a gentleman. We found a lot in common about out relative friends in the Rossville Indiana. The Yoder family. Gonna miss you Dan we shall meet again in Heaven. Ralph Calvert
