Dianna J. Vowels

Dianna J. Vowels, 71, of Carmel, passed away at St. Vincent Hospice on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Dianna was born in Logansport, Indiana on July 4, 1948 to the late Eugene and Mildred (Shanks) Sprinkle.
On July 10, 1971 Dianna was united in marriage to her husband, Richard “Rick” Vowels. Dianna was an incredible mother, and after her children left the home, she had a very successful career in real estate for over 10 years.
Dianna was an avid bowler and played in many leagues for several years. She also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of her neighborhood Euchre club. Dianna delighted in vacationing at Kentucky Lake with her family during the summers. Her greatest joys were her children and her pets (especially her Papillon, Sophie.)
Along with her husband, Dianna is survived by her children, Nolan (Stephanie) and Nathan Vowels and Megan Smith; and her three grandchildren, Madison, Kaitlynn, and Caleb Smith.
A funeral service will be held for Dianna on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Ave, Indianapolis, with calling hours beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, Dianna’s family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Humane Society of Hamilton County; envelopes will be provided at the church. Please visit www. Loved her so much. My favorite memories are of her in our Euchre group and her famous stuffed mushrooms. She was an excellent cook, too. We also shared the love of going to the casino if I remember correctly. Will miss her great laugh and beautiful smile. Fran P.
