Edward George Fritsch

Edward George Fritsch, 92, Fishers, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 18, 1924 to Charles and Catherine Binder Fritsch. Ed graduated from Elder High School in Cincinnati in 1942. He served in the 75th Infantry Division of the US Army during WWII and was awarded three bronze stars for his service. Ed married Elizabeth “Betty” Hoffman on April 23, 1947. He graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1982 with a BS Degree in accounting and worked at Metropolitan Life for 20 plus years and the Internal Revenue Service for 10 years. He was an active member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3660. Ed is survived by his son, Ted Fritsch (Laura); daughters, Betty McKinley (Dave), Judy Cleland (John), Margie Gillespie, Barbara Turk (Dewayne); brother, Francis Fritsch; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Fritsch; his son-in-law, Russel Gillespie; and his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth. Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2016 in St Barnabas Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Barnabas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, or the charity of your choice.   1. So sorry to hear of the loss of Edward. May the family find comfort from the scripture at Acts 24:15 which says, “And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” What a beautiful promise for our future!
