Eileen Marie Allen

Eileen Marie Allen passed away on May 2, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on September 8, 1959, in Indianapolis. She graduated from Roncalli High School in 1977 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Marian University, followed by a long career at the Fort Benjamin Harrison Finance Center. After 37 years of service, she transitioned into a fulfilling retirement.

Eileen enjoyed community service with many organizations: St. Vincent de Paul Society, Wheeler Mission, Meals on Wheels, and the Indianapolis Humane Society. She was particularly devoted to the annual St. Jude Thanksgiving Baskets program and the Christmas Giving Tree, bringing joy and support to countless families during the holidays.

She loved to travel, particularly New York City, Hawaii, South Korea, Ireland, and the Caribbean Islands. She had many hobbies, including reading, crocheting, and attending sporting events and Broadway shows.
Family and her Irish heritage were the cornerstones of Eileen’s life. She was the main caregiver for her mom and provided additional care and support to other family members in failing health. Her nieces and nephews were very important to her, and she loved attending their activities and sporting events.

She is survived by her siblings: David “Crockett” Allen; Robert (Peggy) Allen; Linda (Greg) Bamrick, and Brian Allen. Eileen’s legacy also lives on in her eight nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews, as well as numerous cousins. One of her greatest joys was being one of the ten Gaughan cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary (Gaughan) Allen and by her beloved sister-in-law, Christine Allen.

She also found great joy in her four-legged companions over the years: Wally, Brownie, Buddy and Skipper. She cherished their company and unconditional love.

The community will gather to honor her life and legacy beginning with a visitation at O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 6107 S East Street, Indianapolis, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, on Monday, May 18, 2026, commencing at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
