Frank W. Beasley

Frank W. Beasley, 86, passed away January 12, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born in Indianapolis on August 16, 1932, to the late Vernis and Lucille (Cook) Beasley.

Frank lived on the south side, attending Arsenal Tech followed by three years in the Korean War with the US Navy as a Radio Operator. He enrolled at Butler University, leading to a 35 year career at Eli Lilly as a chemist. In retirement, Frank enjoyed his own business as a property owner/landlord, befriending many who needed a helping hand.

On August 30, 1958, he married Sandra McCormick, spending 60 years together. They loved long drives together to Naples, Florida and sunny days at the beach, in addition to the appeals of Michigan. Frank had a passion for landscaping; his yard could cover a magazine. Other favorites were fishing and playing cards. Most important was time with his children and grandchildren, celebrating holidays and vacationing together. Frank was active at St. Jude Catholic Church as a School Board member and Property Commissioner. Frank’s wit and humor will be missed by those who knew him. His fun and friendly personality continued this last year with Sandy at Traditions of Solana.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Dearing. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; daughter, Kathy (Tom) Berry; son, Keith Beasley; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Hlavsa, Joseph (Ashley) Beasley, Meghan, Kelly, and Conor Berry; three great grandchildren, Hunter Beasley, Ziggy and Cici Hlavsa.

Friends and family will gather for visitation Friday, January 18, 2019, 4 to 6 p.m., at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 p.m. Cremation will follow, and inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home.
