Memory of George comes from his grade school days at Little Flower. As l recall George took singing lessons. And there were times when he was asked to sing. Always thought he and his parents channeling his talents in that direction was a great idea.

George Baugh was a very nice man and our neighbor for 21 years. We owned a barbershop and I use to cut his hair and I love the stories he use to tell. I hate this so much he is gone. I hope his puppy Duke is ok. Much love to you and your family and Rest In Peace Sgt. Majors George Baugh. Tim and Ruth Doughty.
It’s now 2024. I remember George very well. I’m 81 years old now and still living in Indy. I spent several years along side George in the 38th Infantry Div., G2 Intelligence Section. George was an outstanding person in our unit. At one point when we were lower ranked a new Sgt Major took over our section from another Brigade. One day he told me he was going to transfer George out of the section and I asked why? He said george has an abusive way of saying things. I said to him you’d be making a big mistake. George has a very direct way of saying things but he is an outstanding worker and very valuable to this unit. After a few weeks that Sgt Major said I’m glad you spoke up. He is an outstanding soldier. Several years later another Sgt. Major of our section was retiring and George and I were both Master Sgt’s who were eligible for promotion to Sgt. Major. We both applied and George got the promotion. I later realized if I had not stuck up for him before I might have been promoted. He made an outstanding leader in the Intelligence Section. I later retired before he did. We both had Top Secret security classifications.
