We are Brad and Kathie Brune – parents of Jeffrey – Dave Smith’s friend, teammate & roommate at Southern Illinois University. Kathie and I became very fond of Hugh & Catherine on their many visits to SIU in Carbondale to visit and watch son Dave play football for the Saluki’s. Always friendly and outgoing, Hugh never failed to greet us with his big smile and a firm handshake. His sence of humor, vast football knowledge, and obvious pride and love for Dave served to enriched our mutual trips to SIU to visit the boys. We extend our condolenses and love to Catherine, Dave, and the Smith & Dinn families during this difficult time of loss and transition. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Brad & Kathie Brune, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
