He graduated from Roncalli High School in 1972 and earned a degree in accounting from Ball State University. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 7431. Having moved to Mooresville in 2004, he formerly was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 3660. He was an avid sports fan – he cheered for the Pacers, Packers, Colts, San Francisco Giants, and counted Notre Dame amongst his favorites. Griff had a great gift of remembering names and faces. He enjoyed volunteering and spent more than nine years as a volunteer at Franciscan Health and also enjoyed helping out at church in various capacities. Above all, he was strongly devoted to his family. He will be fondly remembered for his great laugh, kindness, and fun loving spirit.

Prayers for and thoughts of the family at this time from the Armbruster family. Jim and my brother, Doug Armbruster, were friends in grade school and high school. Also my mom was a teacher at Saint Jude she had him as a student in fifth grade.
You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God’s peace surround you.
Susan,….. our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dr Daniel Griffin and Family, Thinking of you during this time of great loss and praying you cherish all the sweet memories of the life he lived.
Dear Drew and Caity, We are so sorry for your loss. May God comfort you and fill you with peace during your time of mourning.
Sad to hear about Jim’s passing. Jim was on our softball team, captained by Pete Schroeder. He was a great teammate and always had a good word or pat on the back to his team. Hope the memories serve as comfort to his wife, kids, and family. Tom Dale
To Laurie, Joe & Susan: We’re so sorry, beautiful family – and Joe, so soon after losing your mother-in-law. God’s peace be with you. Love & comfort to you all. Tim & Jenny Herron
Dear Drew and Caity, We pray God comforts you as you mourn the loss of your uncle. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matt 5:4
Phil, I’ve been asked to speak before Jim’s Mass. I have a story which involves your mother as our 5th grade teacher (naturally, I will mention Doug as a classmate and friend). Griff and I concurred that Trudy Armbruster was our favorite grade school teach.
